Unexpected Arrival

Attention people of Earth:

The Hardinge Triplets arrive today!

Earlier than expected, of course.  I don’t know about you, but I think May 17th is the perfect day for our girls to be born.  As a matter of fact, it is exactly one month before Missy and I’s wedding anniversary! Also, and more importantly, today is great-grandmother* Florer’s birthday! We know that she is with us today, looking down on us and smiling with joy.

As reported over on the triplet blog, Missy had a pretty rough night last night.  Her blood pressure became more difficult to control as the night progressed, and she had a general feeling of “icky-ness” that lead to the decision to start an IV.  Once Dr. Mandsager saw us this morning, he decided that if we waited until Wednesday, there is a real chance that Missy could be sick long after delivery.  With Missy feeling this way, it would be better to schedule a delivery now rather than having an emergency delivery in the middle of the night.

So here we are!  The babies have been monitored constantly throughout the morning and are still doing very well.  Our nurse began Missy on a Magnesium Sulfate drip, which has helped significantly calm the blood pressure and contractions.

And so, delivery has been scheduled for 2:00PM central time.  Stay tuned for more updates over on the triplet blog!

*The babies great-grandmother.  Missy’s Grandmother.

  1. I am so so happy that you are all doing ok–and Granny is just thrilled–wants to know how daddy and mommy are doing too—their names are lovely as I am so positive they are–can’t wait to see pictures. God bless all of you–be sure to get as much sleep as possibe–and as soon as you can give them a kiss for all of us back here on the east coast!

  2. And another great way to remember their birthday–it is right inbetween Andy’s and my wedding anniversiaries!!!
