Meal Time

I posted this over on the Triplet Blog; I figured it would be just as well to post it here too.

I just wanted to give you a shout out.  The meals you have been bringing to Missy and I have been outstanding.  Our fridge is now packed full of leftovers, which I have been graciously taking for lunches when I go in to the office.  The meal calendar Melissa had set up has been working perfectly.  From Chicken Pesto Pasta and Bruschetta to Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Snap Peas, night after night we are blessed by a new and delicious new dish.

I wanted to get out a few things that have been on my mind to help things flow even more smoothly.

  • When you bring over a dish, be sure to include the recipe. We are going to have plenty of mouths to feed in the future, so unless it’s a highly guarded family secret, we’d love to know how you made your dish.  We will always be searching for new and exciting dinners, and who knows…your dish might just become a Hardinge family staple!
  • Unless you specifically state otherwise, expect to get your food-carrying-items back during your return visit.  We have a small collection going already, and if we don’t start returning these dishes, we will need an entire Tupperware room…not just an extra shelf in our pantry, when we build our new house.
  • Please let us know if you intend to stay and eat your meal with us.  Missy and I are new at being on the receiving end of these meals, so we’re never sure if you are dropping off or sticking around.  Either usually works for us, and at the very least, you will still be able to hold some babies!
  • Don’t be afraid to deviate from the calendar.  If you’d rather bring a lunch for Missy and Shannon, or a meal in July or August, we will make it work…just let us know!

So keep those amazing meals coming.  We have just loved each and every one so far…even at the midnight feedings when I’m craving a little snack.  One thing is for sure:  we don’t have to worry about going hungry!

Just a reminder, there are a few dates left in June that are still available.  If you haven’t signed up yet and still want to, click here!
