I hope you forgive me for not getting to this sooner.
Lost in the shuffle of coughs, colds, fevers, and trips to the ER was another major milestone in the girls lives: their three month birthday! Two weeks ago our girls reached the big day, causing Missy and I to stop and wonder where exactly this summer has gone.
At some point in our sleep-deprived reality, we must have entered into a parallel space-time continuum: while it seems like we just brought our girls home from the hospital last week, May feels like a lifetime ago as the girls continue to grow and develop right before our very eyes.
Time once spent swaddled and asleep is slowly being replaced by playtime underneath their play mat, which is lasting longer and longer each day (Sienna loves the mirror). Sadly (but not really), they are getting so big now that they don’t even all fit under it at the same time any more! All three are weighing in between 10.5 and 13.5 pounds…you would hardly guess that they arrived six weeks early 🙂
They are all finding their voices and like to make their presence known…in a good way. Reactive smiles are now a daily occurrence, and while there are still the 1,000 mph tantrums that make our blood curdle, they are now thankfully fewer and farther between.
Now if they could just learn to sleep eight hours, we’d be set.
