It’s Getting Hot In Here!

In case you haven’t heard…it’s been hot out here in Iowa.

Extremely hot. Unbearably hot. Dangerouslyhot.

However, I’m sure that you have heard, and you have become all too familiar with info-graphics like these:

…as it seems the entire nation is reeling from a massive summer heatwave.

Too hot to go outside. Too hot to swim. Too hot to do anything other than stay inside a dark air conditioned room, sip an ice cold beverage, and lay low.

Or…{if you’re 14 months old}…get naked!!

Silly Ro!

Silly Nenna!

Silly Jovie Jane!

To beat the heat on Monday, I decided to strip the girls down to their diapers and let them run wild for a bit before bed.  Back and forth; up and down the hall they went, loving the feel of cool air dance across their skin.

Running up...

And back down again!

Though after a solid 30 minutes of running silly, their collective attention span waned…

Worn out!

…even after finding other ways to keep cool.

Works best if removed...

Wind-blown!

So before the girls overtired/manic side set in…

Tumble Bumble

Is that 'Downward Dog' Sienna is performing?

…I quickly dressed them in their PJ’s, read them their favorite stories, and laid them in their cribs for the night.  All that running around made for three tired puppies!

+  +  +

So…at what age it does become inappropriate to let the girls to run around the house half-naked??  Hopefully not anytime soon!
