Snapshots | Home Again

November 7, 2011 | “Home Again, Home Again” | West Des Moines, Iowa

In case you hadn’t heard…Missy and I stole away to the twin cities for an extended weekend to celebrate our birthdays, my successful completion of the PE Exam {“successful completion” as in I took the thing…not that I passed. We won’t know the outcome for 7-9 more weeks…ugh 😕}, and most importantly of all…each other.

Yet despite being in the best of hands with Grandpa Steve, Grandma Cindy, and Aunt Shannon, the girls had a pretty rough go of it while we were away…still recovering from colds, adjusting to the time change, and even at times wondering the house saying “Mama? Dada?” Talk about heart breaking.

Watching sweet their faces light up with joy as we arrived home Monday night won’t be something that we soon forget. Of course, the girls immediately wanted Missy at arms length at all times, even if that meant her climbing into their new pop-up tent with them all at once. Needless to say, I’m sure they won’t be letting her out of their sight again any time in the near future…

More to come soon on our amazing weekend!
