The Sand Table

I want to let you in on a little secret: it’s hard to find lasting entertainment for three 2-year-olds (that doesn’t involve a television); it’s a constant battle that Missy and I both struggle with on a daily basis.

Thankfully, we’ve managed to come up with a few solutions.

It started with the Water Table: a blue, round plastic table that we’d fill up with water and let the girls splash and play in. It even converted into a Snow Table during the (few) snowy days we had last winter!

Unfortunately, once they figured out how to fill up their cups with water and pour it all over themselves, each trip to the water table ended with a fresh change of clothes.

…which as you can guess, got old…fast.

Enter: the Sand Table, which was Grandma Cindy’s early birthday present to the girls. Same basic concept as the water table, but with sand instead! They have as much fun as they had with the water table with their cups, funnels, cars, and sieves, plus no soaking toddlers to fuss with in the end! Clearly, a win-win for all parties involved.

{I love the level of concentration from Sienna, who clearly wants nothing what-so-ever to do with her picture being taken.}

And ok, so maybe we still have some unwanted spill-over to contend with…

…but either way, we’re convinced that our girls would absolutely love the beach. Good thing, since we plan on many a summer vacation to the OBX in the years to come!
