Outtakes

I don’t know about you, but I think the 2013 Hardinge Family Christmas Card picture turned out pretty dang good.

Missy came up with the hilarious idea and awesome tag line. We used the flower girl dresses Grammie Mona made for Aunt Hannah’s wedding last summer, and Missy scored the wings and halos on clearance at (where else) Target. It was the perfect setup.

But while the picture might be an instant classic, getting to that point wasn’t so easy. It was actually quite difficult. Like…three separate sessions over the course of two weeks difficult. Either the camera was out of focus or improperly framed, or someone kept taking off their halo (ahem…Lola…ahem…)…

…and then their whole “I’m not sure what to do with my hands” thing…

…made the process a whole lot more difficult than it really should have been.

We four dozen or so more of those…oy vey. At least now we can look back and laugh. (We so gave up on Lola’s halo after the first night.)

Yet after all our trials and tribulations, the end result made it all worth it:

Nailed it.
