Lola turns 24 months two years old today, and (as you can probably imagine) I have a few things to say about that! But first, a confession:
I’ve never posted Lola’s birth video.
I’m a bad dad. We posted the triplets birth video mere weeks after it happened, and it’s gone on to become the most watched video on our YouTube page! Yet here we are, two years after the fact…and still nothing for baby Lola. Well that all changes, starting now:
Is it getting a little dusty in here? No? Just me? 😥
Ok, now we can continue with the post:
We’ve reached that mind-bending point in time in which Lola is now the same age the older girls were when we first brought her home from the hospital. She’s wearing their 2-year-old clothes. She’s sassy and defiant, as per the typical toddler. She’s even talking and communicating to us in short, truncated phrases…her voice is so similar to the voices in videos from two years ago that when we close our eyes, we can barely tell the difference.
She’s inquisitive like Sienna…
…and silly like Jovie…
And despite being two years younger, she weighs just as much (not even kidding) as our smallest “big girl” Rowan does.
I guess it’s partially because she still has the cutest little Buddha belly you’ve ever seen. I selfishly hope this doesn’t go away any time soon.
She’s a four-year-old trapped in a two-year-old body, as she tries her best to keep up with three very busy older sisters…
(OK, so she was barely one in those pictures, but you still get the idea ;-))
No job is too big, and no task is too small…
Our Lola bean can handle them all! 😀
(Ok, no more Dr. Seuss, promise.)
And also? I’ve never seen any toddler so open and inviting to people she hasn’t met. Her usual response to visitors is an arms-open run towards them asking “Hug? Hug? Hug?” repeatedly. It’s the sweetest.
Oh, did I mention the sass yet? Even though she’s officially just turning two today, she’s been “two” for all intents and purposes a few months now…
Yep, definitely two.
There isn’t much else to say that hasn’t been said yet already. Two years ago we could hardly imagine life with three children, let alone adding a fourth to the mix. Now we can’t imagine it any other way.
So happy birthday, sweet “baby” Lola…
…don’t grow up on us too fast.
