Day two made me nervous. I didn’t have a plan. Not that I needed a minute by minute itinerary, I just didn’t want to Missy and I to be stuck standing around, wasting time trying to decide what to do next. I mean, generally I had a idea…but as for timing and specifics, it was all left in flux. To make up as we went along.
Luckily, it all came together in the end…just as these things tend to do 😉
Breakfast was the easy part: Blue Bottle Coffee.
Just a quick walk from our hotel and we were in another breakfast haven, this time with lattes, Belgian waffles, and poached eggs.
Which involved a good dose of shopping…
…then meeting up with my cousin Matthew who just happened to live in the bay area! After all, we couldn’t come all this way without seeing a familiar face when we had the chance.
Since it was an undeniably beautiful day (and views over the bay were crystal clear and unimpeded), the rest of our “plan” turned into “let’s get to the beach as fast as possible.”
Done and done.
Later, a looong walk back down to the Embarcadero…
…with a sun set stop to rest along the way…
(In case you were wondering, El Farolito won the Mission Burrito Throwdown by a mile.)
After saying our goodbyes to Matt, it was back to the hotel for more R&R. The relaxing day was the perfect respite after going so hard on day one. We had even unintentionally retraced our bike route from the previous day in reverse, only this time without a trace of fog to be seen.
We finally got to witness first hand those million-dollar views we came for.
