With all apologies to the northeast, it’s been lovely out here this past week.
Longer days, melting snow, above average temps…and when they all combined over a low-key weekend, it lead to the Hardinge Herd doing all the outside things we’ve wanted to do all winter!
…leads to a Sunday afternoon family-sized siesta!
(It was warm, but super windy…which explains Missy’s hoodie)
Power washing the deck and filling up a salvaged basketball hoop base with water leads to a new coat of stain…
…as well as discovering the reason we were having water pressure issues with our garden hose.
Half of it was draining into our basement.
Diagnosis: busted wall hydrant which likely froze after leaving the hose attached to the spigot over the winter.
Consider this our lesson learned, especially since Miss & I are planning on finishing the basement this summer. Considering that we only lost a few scraps of carpet, we’re extremely fortunate that it happened now and not after we did all that work. Never a dull moment with home ownership, am I right?
Aside from that, another fantastic weekend is in the books.
Time to put the swimsuits away…now back to more seasonable (read: colder) temperatures over the next 10 days.
It was fun while it lasted!
